"I can't honestly say there was a pivotal moment that made me decide that make-up was going to be my career," says professional makeup artist Carlye Halvorsen. Early on, Carlye preferred to flip through fashion magazines rather than read her text books and could easily recall her teachers' fashion and makeup choices more so than the material taught. However, when it came time to pursue her career, she chose a different route. Over the next decade and a half she endured a successful career in sales and marketing. The years may have passed by but her passion for makeup certainly has not.

Carlye was born in Ohio but raised in Southern California. She has studied at Empire Makeup Academy and The Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts. She is an accomplished makeup artist with experience in all aspects of beauty makeup and media makeup: fashion, video and print. Carlye has the innate ability to bring out the natural beauty of her clients, no matter the gender or ethnicity.

Carlye currently resides in San Diego with her husband, son, and dog. Her other endeavors include practicing yoga, spending time with her family, and most importantly, striving to learn, grow, and expand her awareness.
